Adiéu paure Carneval (Farewell, poor Carnival), wailing Nissart lyrics by Georges Delrieu. Traditional from County of Nice.
You are going away, and I’m coming... The young new year is coming to replace the old one. This end of carnival lament is sung during King Carnival’s cremation, alternately with a farandole (Carnaval es arrivat).
See also Adiu paure Carnaval, a version played during las fecos de Limous, the carnival of Limoux (Aude, France).
