This Christmas carol has been published on 1668 in the 1st book, with number 9.

1st verse                         
Pr noun langui long du camin,
Counten quauco sourneto ;
Sus lou fifre e lou tambourin,
Disen la cansouneto.
Canten Nouv, Nouv, Nouv, Nouv sus la museto.
 To not languishing along the lane,
Lets tell a few balderdash;
On the fife and the tambourin,
Lets say the ditty.
Lets sing Christmas, Christmas, Christmas, Christmas on the musette (1).

2nd verse                         
Lou tms nous a gaire dura :
Veseici la granjeto.
Lou bu premi que li intrara,
Que lve la barreto.
Canten Nouv, etc.
 The time seemed not very long to us:
Here is the small barn.
The first one that will come in,
Let him lift the latch.
Lets sing Christmas, etc.

3rd verse                         
Helas ! moun Diu ! lou bl enfant !
Coume pren la pousseto !
Dirias avis que mor de fam :
Regardas coume teto !

 Oh! My God! What a beautiful child!
How he takes the breast!
He looks like starving :
Look how he sucks at!

4th verse                         
Ai diu, de farino e de la
Emai uno casseto ;
Saviu de fio, li auriu lu fa
Uno bono poupeto.

 Ive got eggs, flour and milk,
And also a small casserole;
If I had thread, I would make him
A nice doll.

5th verse                         
Lou pichot es mai mort que viu ;
Jus fai lei tacheto.
Dounas-me vite lou fusiu,
La sinso e lei brouqueto.

 The child is more dead than alive;
Joseph is shivering with cold.
Give me quickly the gun,
The sinso (2) and the matches.

6th verse                         
Lenfant es fre coume de glas :
Pourgs-me lescaufeto.
Tens, caufas-li soun pedas,
Coumaire Guihaumeto.

 The child is cold as ice:
Bring me the foot-warmer.

Fellow Guillaumette.

7th verse                         
Aquesto crpi vai au su,
Coucha quelo saumeto.
Vens, questacaren lou biu ;
Prestas-me vstei veto.

Bono Vierge, Maire de Diu,
Bello e jouino bruneto,

 Good Virgin, mother the Lord,
Nice and young brunette,
All of us are going to say you farewell:
We dont leave you alone!

1. Bagpipes fed in air by means of bellows.
