This Christmas carol begins exceptionally with the scene of the Annunciation.

Maria es saludada
De sant Gabriel,
En suita assurada
Que pourtaría l’Enfant (twice)
De Dieu Paire tout puissant. (twice) | | By order from Heaven
Mary is greeted
By saint Gabriel,
Then, [she is] assured
She will carry the Child (twice)
Of God [the] Father most powerful. (twice) |

Maria si troublèt
Al parlar de l’ange.
Al dèure pensar
Al salut estrange,
Li dit couma si pòu far (twice)
Estre Vierge e enfantar ? (twice) | | Mary troubled herself
By talking of the angel.
May be she thinks
About the strange salute,
