The fecos from carnival of Limoux

The stock of plays

The musical repertory consist in traditional tunes, some others are borrowed from the lyric or classical repertory, whose transformation can make the recognition difficult. When they exist, the lyrics of origin are replaced by a text of circumstance, relating to the local life, not missing greenness... The marching tunes, played during the outings, have a ternary rhythm identical to that of the farandoles practised in the whole Occitany. Many has a musical form in rondo. In a general way and for all the outings, one nowadays notes an acceleration of the tempo compared to that practised in the 50’s-70’s.

Preludes before outings. Before the first turn of each outing, a waltz is played and danced in front of the starting pub.
