1st verse
Canto a plen garganhol:
And what is this, audible in the mist?
What is this noise? It is a bird without feather
What makes “puff-puff”, is throbbing and smoking,
Goes up and down, and turns as it wants.
The head lifted up, our people is shivering,
Glancing around for who might be this madman...
But as he comes from near Carcassonne
He sings at the top of his voice:

Chorus 1
Aco que brunzino
Es le courachous Bedrino
Qu’arribo sur sa machino
Coumou passérat,
Parel a l’esclaire
Aqui es a son afaïre,
Quilhat amoun naut din l’aïré
Filo coumou rat!
 What is buzzing (2)
Is the brave Vedrines
Who is arriving on his machine
As does a sparrow,
Similar to the lightning
Here he knows his stuff,
Perched on high in the air
He is going off as a rat!

2nd verse
Dins le cel blu et lis com uno glaso
Gaitas, amics, aquel punt dins l’espaso
Qué pauc à pauc grossis e se desplaso
Qu’azidomen escalado tant naut.
Es un utis fai de boes e de telo,
Per le ména cal pas es un nigaut.
Vires un jorn crebara las estelos,
Nostres solel tant naut!
In the sky blue and smooth as a mirror
Let watch out, friends, for this point in space
Little by little growing and shifting
That easily climbs so high.
It’s a tool made of wood and cloth,
To drive it, you don’t have to be silly.
You will see, a day he will burst the stars,
Our sun so high!

Chorus 2
Le balent Bedrino
A cabal sur sa machino
Dins l’ether pur qué brounzino
Filo com un rat...
Parel a l’esclaire
Aqui es a son afaire,
Semblo qué nadé dins l’aire
Com un passerat!
 The valiant Vedrines
Straddling his machine
In the pure buzzing ether
Is going off as a rat...
Similar to the lightning
Here he knows his stuff,
It appears he swims in the air
As does a sparrow!

3rd verse
Si les anciens que son morts a la guerro
De dins le leit se lebaron de terro,
Elis que an pas jamai saput so qu’ero
Que de bola, sarion al desespouer
Las mas sus cap daban aquel miracle,
Estabuzits, un frison dins le quer,
S’amagarion en cridant “Es le diable
Que desen dé l’Enfer!”
If elders dead at war (3)
Off their shroud get up from earth,
Them they have never known what is was
To fly, they would be in despair
Their hands on [their] head before this miracle,
Amazed (4), a shiver on the skin (5),
They would hide, shouting “It’s the devil
Coming down from hell!”

Chorus 3
Aco que brunzino
E le motur de Bédrino
Qu’a cabal sus sa machino
Filo com un rat...
Parel a l’esclaire
Aqui es a son afaïre,
Semblo qué nadé dins l’aire
Com un passerat!
 What is buzzing
Is the engine of Vedrines
Who, straddling his machine,
Is going off as a rat...
Similar to the lightning
Here he knows his stuff,
It appears he swims in the air
As does a sparrow!
