1st verse
Lorsque vous sarés malaut
     De quauque mau;
Lorsque vous sarés malaut,
Se lou mau es incurable,
     En dangié de mouri,
Aquel enfant qu’es à l’estable
     Vous aura lèu gari.
 When you will be ill
     Because of any harm;
When you will be ill,
If harm is incurable,
     In danger to die,
This child who is in the cowshed
     Will have quickly cure you.

2nd verse
Prenès tous eisèmple à iéu,
     Au noum de Diéu!
Prenès tous eisèmple à iéu:
Iéu me foundiéu coume un cierge;
     Ère déjà passi,
Mai, Diéumerci la bono Vierge!
     Incaro siéu eici.
 Let take me as a model,
     In the name of God!
Let take me as a model:
I was melting as a candle;
     I was already passed,
But, thank God to the good Virgin!
     Still I’m here.

3rd verse
Qui se sentira taca
     D’un gros pecat;
Qui se sentira taca,
Èi segur que, si reclamo
     Aquéu bon medecin,
Tout aussitost aura soun amo
     Neto coume un bassin.
 Who will feel stained
     Because of a great sin;
Who will feel stained,
I’m sure that, if he calls for
     This good doctor,
Immediately he will get his soul
     Clean as a basin.

4th verse
Si vous savias ce que fai!
     Vous lou dirai;
Si vous savias ce que fai!
Lou remèdi qu’eu ourdouno,
     Èi sa car e soun sang,
A touto sorto de persouno
     Que soun entre sei man.
 If you would know what he does!
     I’ll tell you;
If you would know what he does!
The remedy he prescribes,
     From his flesh and his blood,
To all kinds of people
     They are in his hands.

5th verse
Si vous counfisas en éu,
     Coume se déu;
Si vous counfisas en éu,
Vous fara part de la gràci
     Que fai à seis amis,
En vous fasènt vèire sa fàci
     Dedins soun Paradis.
 If you entrust to him,
     Of course;
If you entrust to him,
He will tell you about the grace
     He gives his friends
Revealing his face
     In his Paradise.

6th verse
Dessus l’aubre de la crous,
     Mourra pèr tous;
Dessus l’aubre de la crous,
Pagara la folo enchiero
     De noste paire Adam,
E tirara sa raço entiero
     Deis arpo de Satan.
 On the tree of the cross,
     He will die for all;
On the tree of the cross,
He will pay the mad bid
     Of our father Adam,
And will pull out his whole race (1)
     From Satan’s claws.

1. Raço or rasso: race, breed, species, sort, kind, type, kinship, offspring, and here progeny.
