Anèn toui gèn dòu village Noun cregnèn lou marit temp. Faguèn toui aquèu viage Per li festa en Betelèn. Lu ange nou van guidant Que per l’aria van cantant La pas, la joia, l’amour. N’ès naissu lou Redèntour. | | Let everybody go, people of the village, Don’t let us be afraid of bad weather. Let’s have this trip together For the feasts in Bethlehem. The angels go guiding us Who in the air go and sing Peace, joy, love. He was born for us, the Redeemer. |

Es naissut au plen de l’iver, Sensa legna, sensa fuèc, Au mitan dei doui jumèu, Sus la paia, sus lou fen. Tres rei an vist de lume, Soun partit de l’Ourient. L’estela li fa carriera E li guida en Betelèn. | | He was born in the bleak midwinter, Without wood (1), without fire, In the middle of the two twins (2), On the straw, on the hay. 1. Legna, wood, means here firewood. 2. I.e. the ox and the donkey of the nativity scene. 3. I.e. show them the way.
