Pinta Cùu gardava li vaca,
Pinta Cùu gardava lou mùu.
Touta vaca que passava (1),
Pinta Cùu li pintava (1) lou cùu.		 Pinta Cùu was looking after cows,
Pinta Cùu was looking after the mule.
Each cow that passed,
Pinta Cùu painted its ass.

(1) On peut remplacer chacun de ces verbes par tout autre.

Testa pelada (Skin Head)
Testa pelada, manja salada,
Chica café, manja fidé.
   Tête pelée, mange de la salade,
Chique du café, mange des nouilles (2).

(5) Au féminin, la levita désigne la soutane ou, plus précisément, la longue redingote portée par les séminaristes. Au masculin, lou levita désigne le séminariste et l’assistant du prêtre (étymologiquement, membre de la tribu de Lévy). La moquerie pourrait viser le port ostentatoire de ce vêtement religieux, ou l’air emprunté de celui qui le porte.
