Pastre, pastresso , (bis) (Shepherds, shepherdesses) Lyrics by Nicolas Saboly, known as Micoulau Sabòli. Traditional from Provence. Tune Vàutrei, fiheto, qu’avès de galant (You, little girls, who are getting lovers).
Nicolas Saboly has proposed two versions for this Christmas carol, whose first one is on familiar tune Vàutrei, fiheto, qu’avès de galant (You, little girls, who are getting lovers). The second version reuses the musical theme of Digo, Jeanneto.
This Christmas carol has been published on 1673 in the 7th book. It appears with number 51 in the Fr. Seguin’s new edition.
