Coura vèn lou bèu tems En la nuech qu’es clara, La luna que revèn Soubre de Santa-Clara, En li pin dòu Castèu S’aude lou roussignòu Que canta tant que pòu En lou siéu nidounòu ! Roulada e trilla Mounton dòu jardin Au soubran dai grilla Dai viei bernardin !		When comes fine weather In the night which is clear, The moon coming back Above Sainte-Claire, In the pine trees of the Castle Is heard the nightingale Chirping as it can In its [small] nest! Roulades and trills Go up from the garden Above the railings Of the old bernardins ⁽¹⁾!

La vigna dòu balcoun Entoura la soufieta Doun s’aude la cansoun ⁽²⁾ D’una bruna fiheta. Escoutèn lou refrèn Dòu gente troubadour Que dì lou siéu amour Ai èco d’alentour. Lou soulèu espounta En-là, sus la mar, E l’auba prounta Ai riba dòu Var.		The vine of the balcony Surrounds the garret From where is heard the song Of a brown young girl. Aloura Roussignòu S’enduerme sus la branca, La testa couma fòu Souta la pluma blanca... Vendrà au calabrun Per cantà lou printems, Li flou e lou bèu tems, En la nuech que vèn ! La roussignouletta, Per lou siéu roussignòu, Gounfla la niouleta, Diguènt : A tu vòu !		At that time Nightingale Falls asleep on the bough, Its head as needed Under the white feather... It will come at twilight To sing spring, Flowers and fine weather, In the coming night! The small female nightingale, For its nightingale, Puffs out its uvula, Saying: “To you I go!”
