Dominique Jules Mari proposes a 4th verse in French, without original Nissart version: |
Voyez ! Dans le ciel bleu Le soleil luit, magique, Inondant de ses feux La fête symbolique De Grâce et de Beauté ! Fleurs ! Ouvrez vos pétales Et que partout s’étale Le tapis embaumé De vos cœurs parsemés. | | Let see! In the blue sky Sun is gleaming, magic, Flooding with its lights The symbolic feast Of Grace and Beauty! Flowers! Open your petals And let everywhere spread The embalmed carpet With your scattered hearts. |
1. Patagoun: may be Patagonia, i.e. “Run up from very far”. 2. This is a poetic licence, because County of Nice is no more in Provence since it dedicated itself to Savoy on 1388. 3. Gip or gipe: the plaster, from which were made confetti, when was written Nice en folie. See also Fla ! Fla !
